Mexico’s steelmaking raw materials output recovers in May
Mexican iron ore output rose month-on-month in May, as did pellet and first-grade coke output, according to local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi) data monitored by Kallanish.
Mexico produced 776,135 tonnes of iron ore during May, up by 3.6% on-month but 2.5% lower year-on-year. January-May output reached 4 million tonnes, down 446,661t over the same period in 2020.
