Mexico’s September rebar production remains strong, rod falls
Mexico saw rebar output increase both on-month and year-on-year in September, Kallanish notes. Wire rod production, however, remained weak, falling for the fourth consecutive month.
According to local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía's (Inegi)’s preliminary report, Mexico produced 185,651 tonnes of rebar in September, up 17.1% from August’s 158,495t and 34,977t more year-on-year.
