Mexico’s rebar, wire rod production ticks up in May
Mexico saw both rebar and wire rod output increase month-on-month in May, Kallanish notes.
According to the local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi), Mexico produced 119,292 tonnes of rebar in May, up 3.6% over April but 4,918t less year-on-year. Five-month output was 667,842t, a decline of 3.1% or 21,718t less compared with January-May 2022. The value of this reached MXN 11.31 billion ($676.7 million).
