Mexico's iron ore output rises on-month in January
Mexico saw its iron ore output rise month-on-month in January, while pellet and first-grade coke production moved down. Production of each, however, was weaker year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi), during the first month of 2021 Mexico produced 730,521 tonnes of iron ore. This volume was 13.5% higher compared to 643,591t in December but down 11.4% y-o-y.
