Mexico’s billet production recovers in August
Mexican billet output increased sequentially in August. Output was also higher compared to a year earlier, Kallanish notes.
According to local statistics provider Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi) preliminary data, Mexico produced 165,387 tonnes of billet during August. This was an increase of 21.2% from July’s 136,406t and 25,035t more compared with the same month last year.
