Mexico’s automotive industry foresees challenging 2022
Mexican automotive industry association Amia projects pre-Covid-19 domestic production and export levels will be reached again in 2024, Kallanish notes. According to Amia, the sector’s performance in 2021 will be slightly lower compared to a year earlier.
Mexican automotive output should fall almost 2.3% in 2021 versus 3,040,178 vehicles in 2020, while exports are seen moving up just 0.5% on-year compared to 2,681,806 units shipped a year earlier.
