Metalloinvest hikes ore, billet shipments to meet demand
Russian iron ore miner and steelmaker Metalloinvest increased output of hot briquetted iron and iron ore pellet to a record quarterly level in the second quarter. The share of higher-added-value iron ore in overall iron ore product sales rose to 72% from 69% in Q1.
Third-party iron ore product shipments increased by 7.4% on-quarter to 6.5 million tonnes, driven chiefly by higher shipments of MGOK pellet to meet market demand.
