Metalloinvest increases production with mill overhaul
Russian iron ore miner and steel producer Metalloinvest completed the overhaul of the 2,800mm mill at its flagship Ural Steel, one day ahead of schedule, the company says.
During the repair, a device was installed to quickly raise the upper roll of the DUO stand, which makes it possible to instantly remove the hot roll and prevent wear of the mill rolls. The planned economic impact from the upgrade is over RUB 39 million/year ($505,000).
