Mesabi Trust wins Cleveland-Cliffs arbitration dispute
Following a dispute concerning the calculation of royalties on iron ore production, shipments, and sales, Cleveland-Cliffs has been ordered to pay underpaid royalties and interest to Mesabi Trust by the end of this month.
Beginning in 2019, publicly-held Mesabi Trust sought arbitration through the American Arbitration Association (AAA) against Cliffs’ subsidiary Northshore Mining, operator of leased land in Minnesota.
