US pipe, tube import licences increase on-month
US pipe and tube import licences in May jumped to 439,496 tonnes from their final import tonnage in April of 342,827t, according to the US International Trade Administration’s Steel Import Monitor Analysis (SIMA).
While overall May import applications dropped 5.4% from April’s licence applications, the number of pipe and tube tonnes is increasing month-on-month (see Kallanish 10 June).
