Malaysia's Eastern Steel details 5-year development plan
Eastern Steel in Malaysia, 60% controlled by China's Shanxi Jianlong, has detailed its five-year plan, Kallanish learns. The steelmaker is expected to attain 5 million tonnes/year of steel capacity by 2023.
The document shows that Eastern Steel has divided its development into three phases. The first phase has already been implemented, with a 700,000 t/y capacity slab plant restarted last month (see Kallanish 17 July).
