Macquarie forecasts average coking coal price of $300/t
Macquarie has projected an average hard coking coal (HCC) price of $300/tonnes for the rest of the year, Kallanish notes.
This was based on the market loosening slightly compared to last year, largely due to improved supply in the near term, but remaining structurally tight, the research house says in a report.
Premium low-vol hard coking coal assessed by Kallanish averaged $294.84/t fob Australia in 2023.
