Lower raw materials prices impact SHP revenue
Shougang Hierro Perú (SHP)’s earnings fell in the first half of 2022, despite increased shipments, due to lower iron ore prices and a weaker Peruvian sol versus the dollar, Kallanish notes.
Six-month shipments totalled 8.96 million tonnes. This was almost 3.8% higher compared to 8.63mt in the same period of 2021. H1 net sales decreased by 24% on-year to PEN 3.58 billion ($916.5 million), with the second quarter representing PEN 1.62 billion.
