LKAB shipments hit record, foresees ore price drop
LKAB’s deliveries hit a record quarterly high 7.6 million tonnes in the third quarter, despite a -7% drop in output to 6.8mt due to Covid-19-related restrictions and the seismic event at Kiruna in May.
The deliveries were up 38% on-year, with pellet comprising 82% versus 79% in Q3 2019. Net sales rose 20% to SEK 9.33 billion ($1.05 billion), while net profit was up 7% to SEK 2.8 billion, Kallanish notes.
