Libya, South Africa elevate Africa’s crude steel output
Libya and South Africa's production increase elevated the African continent’s crude steel output in June and the first half of the year, notes Kallanish.
Libya produced 77,947 tonnes of crude steel in June, up 358.8% on May and 24.1% on-year, while January-June production inched up 6.8% on-year to 404,276t versus 378,447t recorded in H1 2022, according to the latest worldsteel data.
