Liberty, Paul Wurth, SHS partner for hydrogen-based plant

Liberty Steel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Paul Wurth and Stahl-Holding-Saar (SHS) to study the construction of a hydrogen-based steelmaking plant at Dunkirk, France, Kallanish notes. The partnership will work together on a project to incorporate a 2 million tonnes/year capacity direct reduced iron plant, with an integrated 1GW capacity hydrogen electrolysis production unit.
