Leader Steel’s net profit up in first quarter
Malaysian steel products maker Leader Steel has reported higher earnings despite lower revenue, due to a gain on the disposal of land, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a bourse filing that its net profit surged more than three times to MYR 7.68 million ($1.63m) for the third quarter ended 31 March, 2024, from $2.48m a year ago.
