Latin America’s finished steel output increases in January
Latin America finished steel production rose on-month in January but was lower than a year earlier, Kallanish learns from regional steel producers' association Alacero.
Finished steel output reached 4.37 million tonnes in January. This was 5.3% more than in December 2021 but 4.9% less on-year. Long steel accounted for 49.4% or 2.15mt of output, while flat steel and seamless tube were 2.07mt and 130,900t, respectively.
