Latin American first-quarter steel trade deficit widens

Latin America's steel trade deficit widened in March to 1.35 million tonnes, almost 15% more than in February and up 21.3% year-on-year, according to the steel producers' association Alacero. The first-quarter deficit was at 3.93mt, which is 3.7% higher compared to 3.79mt in the same period a year earlier.
