LatAm's October crude steel production increases: Alacero
Latin American crude steel production improved month-on-month in October, Kallanish learns from regional steelmakers’ association Alacero. Output was however weaker compared to a year earlier, although insignificantly.
Regional crude steel production reached 5.33 million tonnes, up 7% or 350,800 tonnes over September but 0.6% less on-year. Of this volume, 2.59mt were produced through the electric arc furnace route and 2.73mt by blast-basic oxygen furnaces.
