LatAm primary iron production grows in January
Latin America has begun the year by increasing primary iron output, Kallanish notes.
According to steel producers' association Alacero’s latest monthly report, regional primary iron production was 3.48 million tonnes in January, 6.1% more over December and 9.1% higher on-year.
Of this total, pig iron production represented 82.5% or 2.87mt, while sponge iron amounted to 610,000t.
