LatAm finished steel production rises, consumption slows
Latin American finished steel production rose month-on-month in March. It was also higher on-year for a fourth consecutive month, Kallanish learns from regional steel producers' association Alacero.
Finished steel output reached 4.71 million tonnes in March, up 13.1% on February and 11.5% higher on-year. Long steel represented 2.45mt, while flat steel amounted to 2.16mt and seamless tube to 96,700t.
