LatAm January trade deficit widens on-month

Latin America saw its steel trade deficit widen in January to 1.33 million tonnes, almost 15.6% more over December 2021. The regional deficit, however, narrowed by 13.8% year-on-year, according to steel producers' association Alacero. LatAm imported 2.33mt of steel in January, 3.4% more over December 2021 and 11.3% higher y-o-y.
