LatAm finished steel trade deficit widens in December
Latin America saw its steel trade deficit widen in December 2020 to 1.50 million tonnes, almost 33.6% higher over November and 13.1% more year-on-year, according to steel producers' association Alacero. During the last year the regional finished steel trade deficit nevertheless narrowed 10.7% on-year to 12.34mt mainly as result of lower trade flows during the Covid-19 lockdown, Kallanish notes.
