LatAm crude steel production dips in March: Alacero
Latin American crude steel production fell for a third consecutive month in March and was weaker year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to steelmakers association Alacero, regional crude steel production reached 4.68 million tonnes in the month, 114,100t less than February’s volume and down 6% on-year. Of this volume, 2.16mt were produced through electric arc furnaces and 2.52mt by blast furnaces. Three-month output was 0.7% lower y-o-y at 14.47mt.
