LatAm trade deficit widens to multiple-year high
Latin America saw its steel trade deficit widen month-on-month in April to 2.11 million tonnes, almost 30.1% more over March. It was also 104.9% wider year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
This was the highest monthly deficit for over five years and only one surpassing 2mt, according to steelmakers’ association Alacero.
