LatAm's finished steel production slides but consumption grows
Latin American finished steel production slipped month-on-month in April but was higher on-year for a fifth consecutive month, Kallanish learns from regional steel producers' association Alacero.
Finished steel output reached 4.7 million tonnes in April, down 0.6% on March but 63.7% higher on-year. Long steel represented 2.42mt, while flat steel amounted to 2.15mt and seamless tube to 131,300t.
