Alacero sees 2021 consumption rebound falling short

Latin American apparent steel consumption (ASC) should fall in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 crisis and resulting economic decline, says steel producers' association Alacero. Regional consumption is seen decreasing -14.5% year-on-year to almost 55.6 million tonnes. January-June use was 28mt, down -14% on-year.
