Laigang orders rebar mill
Shandong Laigang Yongfeng Steel, part of Shandong Iron and Steel, has ordered a new 1 million tonne/year rebar mill from SMS Group, the engineering firm says. The plant is due to begin production in 2019, Kallanish notes.
The plant will be able to roll straight bars and rebar-in-coil 8-32mm in diameter. Yongfeng is already installing 1.87m t/year of replacement EAF steelmaking capacity. Two concasters will be installed, also supplied by SMS. 1m t/y of …
