Kyoei Steel to build Vietnam steelworks
Japan’s Kyoei Steel says it will revive stalled plans to build a JPY 21.8 billion ($200 million) rebar plant in northern Vietnam. A 500,000 tonne/year rebar mill would begin construction this year and be commissioned in 2019, while an electric arc furnace would be added in 2020, Kallanish notes.
