Kuwait mills cut production over power restrictions
Steel mills in Kuwait have reduced working hours to one shift out of three due to a sudden breakdown at a major power station. Repairs have begun, but the wait for supply of spare parts may extend the power supply disruption to industry until September.
The government has asked power-hungry industry sectors, including steel, to reduce power consumption during peak hours in the middle of the day, Kallanish notes.
