Kumba raises shipments, revises upward 2017 sales guidance
Kumba Iron Ore has revised up by 1 million tonnes its sales guidance for 2017 to 42m-44mt. This comes after the South African miner, owned by Anglo American, increased sales by 3% on-year in the third quarter to 11.05mt.
Sales in Q3 were boosted by a 4% increase in exports to 10.8mt due to shipping of delayed volumes on hand at Saldanha at the end of Q2. This offset a -9% fall in domestic sales to 644,000t.
