Krakatau Nippon gains equipment customs clearance
PT Krakatau Nippon Steel Sumikin (KNSS), a joint venture between Indonesia’s OPT Krakatau Steel and Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC), has been given fast track clearance for imported equipment. The decision means the venture will be able to import its Japanese galvanising, annealing and processing line (GAPL) without customs inspection, Kallanish notes.
