Liberty loses Arrium to Korean bid
A South Korean consortium has been named preferred bidder for Australian steel and mining group Arrium, beating a rival bid led by the UK’s Liberty House, the UK company has confirmed to Kallanish. The successful bid envisions installing Posco’s Finex ironmaking technology at the plant, while the defeated bid would have made the Whyalla steelworks part of a global network stretching to the UK.
