Kobe Steel targets hot stamping capacity boost
Japan’s Kobe Steel hopes to boost hot stamping capacity at its Yawata factory by 20% to 300,000 tonnes/year by the end of 2016. The move is designed to sustain its competitiveness against aluminium and carbon fibre alternatives to steel in car making, Kallanish notes.
