Kobe Steel returns to profit despite scandal
Japan’s Kobe Steel has reported a return to profit over the first nine months of the financial year and an increase in output and sales. Despite a scandal involving certification of its products, higher prices and margins lifted Kobe Steel profits over the period, just as has happened with other Japanese steelmakers, Kallanish notes.
