Kobe Steel merges construction units

Japan’s Kobe Steel will merge two construction equipment arms after they signed a deal on Monday. Kobelco Cranes was originally spun off from Kobelco Construction Machinery in 2004, Kallanish notes. The move comes as Kobe Steel attempts to expand its machinery business internationally.
