Kobe Steel merges construction units
Japan’s Kobe Steel will merge two construction equipment arms after they signed a deal on Monday. Kobelco Cranes was originally spun off from Kobelco Construction Machinery in 2004, Kallanish notes.
The move comes as Kobe Steel attempts to expand its machinery business internationally. The merger will improve business efficiency, strengthen product development and bolster global development, the company says. The merger will be completed by 1 April 2016. T…
