Kobe Steel forecasts higher annual profit
Japanese steelmaker Kobe Steel has posted higher forecasts for the fiscal year ended 30 March 2022 (FY21).
Due to a recovery in demand, mainly from automobiles, Kobe Steel's net sales revenues over its financial first half year rose 25.2% year-on-year to JPY 972 billion ($8.56 billion). Meanwhile, the company turned a net loss of JPY 15.2m a year earlier to a net profit of JPY 34.5 billion, Kallanish notes.
