Kobe Steel expects 6.6mt crude steel output
Japan’s Kobe Steel says its crude steel output should reach about 6.6 million tonnes in the fiscal year through March 2022 (FY21), up 790,000t from the previous year, Kallanish notes.
Due to recovering demand, mainly for automotive steel, the company expects annual sales volume to be 5.4mt, up 14.2% year-on-year.
Annual attributable profit is expected to be pushed to JPY 25 billion ($227.5 million), an increase of 7.6% y-o-y (see Kallanish passim).
