Kametstal ignition lance upgrade reduces natural gas use
Metinvest’s Kametstal steel plant has carried out a major overhaul of blast-furnace gas ignition lance No.2 in the gas shop, the company tells Kallanish.
As a result of the revamp and implementation of energy saving measures, it has become possible to use internally produced coke oven gas instead of more expensive natural gas in the lance.
The plant has thus managed to reduce the use of natural gas for this purpose by 40 cubic meters/hour.
