Kametstal improves efficiency with converter repairs
Metinvest’s Kametstal steelworks is carrying out large-scale repairs of converter No.1 at the converter shop, Kallanish notes.
According to the company, the main task is to completely replace the refractory lining and restore key mechanical components, work which is impossible during the unit’s operation. “In terms of the scope of work and scale of tasks, such repairs are equivalent to major repairs,” it adds.
