Brazilian flats' imports rise blocks new price hikes
Brazil has seen a jump in imports of flat products from distributors and service centres in January. This is set to block new attempts by local steelmakers to raise prices further, Kallanish understands from the latest data released by the distributors association Inda.
Imports by distributors soared 310% y-o-y in January to 124,800 tonnes a jump of 61.7% month-on-month.
