JSW Steel’s crude steel output drops in May
JSW Steel reported a 4% year-on-year decrease in crude steel output in May to 2.09 million tonnes. Compared to April, this represents a marginal decline of 1%, notes Kallanish.
This drop in production is attributed to a planned maintenance shutdown at one blast furnace at the Dolvi plant, which was restarted in the first week of June.
The company's capacity utilisation at its Indian operations stood at 86% in May, slightly down from 88% in April.
