JSW initiates caster, degasser project at Ohio mill
JSW Steel USA will partner with London-based Primetals Technologies for updates to its facility at Mingo Junction, Ohio, Kallanish learns.
According to a statement from Primetals, upgrading the 2-strand continuous caster will improve JSW’s internal slab quality. In addition, Primetals will install a 230-ton, twin-station vacuum tank degasser (VTD) with a dry mechanical vacuum pump system. The VTD will be the largest in North America.
