JSW commences high-capacity hot strip mill in Karnataka
India’s JSW Steel has commissioned a hot strip mill (HSM) with a capacity of 5 million tonnes/year at its Vijaynagar plant in Karnataka, Kallanish notes.
The new hot strip mill can make plates and coils and is equipped with digital reheating furnaces, cooling systems and waste heat recovery.
It had started trial operations on 17 March. Now after testing its quality and delivery, JSW Steel has started the commercial manufacturing and sales.
