Japanese steel production bottoms out in September

Japanese steelmakers saw production levels essentially stable in September compared to August. Output is still down year-on-year however as mills combat high inventories and weak demand, Kallanish notes. September crude steel output dropped -2.5% month-on-month to 7.58 million tonnes but on a daily basis output was up 0.7%.
