Japanese steel offers increase further in May

Japanese steelmakers and distributors are holding a positive outlook for the steel market in May and will raise their offers to reflect rising supply chain costs, Kallanish notes. Nippon Steel says it will increase the price of construction steel such as sections and square pipes by more than JPY 10,000/tonne ($81/t) or more from May. Meanwhile, the price of steel sheet piles for construction is expected to increase by JPY 20,000/t in May. …
