Earthquakes hit Japanese steel demand
Japanese steel demand is likely to suffer after two major earthquakes at the end of last week forced carmakers to suspend some production. Although Japan’s domestic steel demand is expected to improve from last year, another hit to its large automotive sector will not be welcome news for steelmakers, Kallanish notes.
