Japanese scrap weakens in Asia
Japanese scrap prices continue to soften domestically, Kallanish notes. Recent export deals for Japanese scrap also reflected a downtrend in values.
Japan’s Tokyo Steel Manufacturing has lowered its domestic procurement prices for scrap at its Utsunomiya works, which is located north of Tokyo. It will pay JPY 35,500/tonne ($322/t) for H2 grade scrap trucked to the steelworks effective 22 June.
