Japanese scrap prices slide further
Japanese scrap prices continue to fall in Asia, Kallanish notes.
South Korea’s Hyundai Steel lowered its bid price for Japanese scrap last week. In its purchase auction on 19 April, the leading EAF operator bid H2 scrap at JPY 31,500/tonne ($296/t). This is JPY1,000/t lower than a tender the week before, and JPY1,500/t lower than its tender on 4 April.
